Linksys cordless phone 'hailed'The latest cordless Skype phone from Linksys is being praised as one of the best to have arrived on the market. The Linksys iPhone CIT400 differs from its predecessor, the CIT300, in that users can simply connect it to a wireless router, rather than connecting it to a computer with a USB cable. Such a development means that the cordless phone can be used on other operating systems and is not linked to a specific platform. According to Todd Haselton, writing for Ars Technica, one of the most impressive features of the phone is the fact that standard calls can be made through the base station without the complications of switching audio devices. While the connectivity of the Linksys is believed to be very good, the cordless phone will also operate for an extended period of time. Possessing the same battery as the CIT300, the package has 120 hours of standby and ten hours of talk time. Posted on: 2007-05-22, in: VoIP Hardware |
