Nortel to demonstrate IPTVCommunications company Nortel is exhibiting their television-based home system at the IPTV World Forum next month. Nortel's conference presentation aims to help consumers understand how IPTV can benefit their business. VoIP, instant messaging, multimedia messaging and presence services will be channelled through Nortel's IPTV, creating improved business potential. Users will have more control over their entertainment experience and service providers will have the new service margin and revenue enhancing potentials of the technology explained. Experts from Nortel will demonstrate the capabilities of the IPTV industry for attracting new business and clients and generating more income. George Riedel, chief strategy officer at Nortel, commented: "Nortel is focused on creating exciting new services through the convergence of communications and entertainment. "We're enriching the TV experience for the next-generation of users by combining Nortel technologies with those of leading video providers to create a whole new set of IPTV applications." The booth will showcase next-generation TV applications and middleware products, along with television interaction between mobile and fixed-line phones and personal computers.
